CEIF Megatrends 2026-2035: A Map of Structural Forces for Strategic Foresight in Latin America
CEIF's first institutional report. It identifies six megatrends on a 2026-2035 horizon and translates them into five priority research lines for Latin America. A living map of the structural forces already redefining the region.
Executive summary
Latin America sits at the center of the most decisive forces of the century, and most of its organizations have yet to grasp it. The resources the world needs for its energy transition, the logistics corridors the great powers are contesting, and the planet's largest biodiversity reserve are all here. But the window to turn that position into a lasting advantage is closing. This report, CEIF's first institutional document, is not a list of trends: it is a map of the six structural forces already reshaping systems before their effects become visible. It is built around a specific question: what does an organization need to understand today in order not to be trapped by decisions others made for it?

STRIKE
Methodological approach
The report is the first output of the Track Trends & Signals (T) phase of CEIF's STRIKE methodology. Megatrends are identified through horizon scanning and validated against observable empirical evidence, applying three criteria: systemic scale, long-term horizon, and partial irreversibility. Each megatrend is presented with three components: the structural force that defines it, the current state of its signals, and what is at stake for Latin America.
